I was pleased that TheScientificParent.org asked me to write a guest blog in response to the shootings in Louisiana. I seek to address how a parent can help children and youth cope with difficult news.
They also have good advice on other topics as well, which I hope will be useful to some of my readers.

Reblogged this on Dr. Gail Beck and commented:
This is my most often reblogged post – I am always happy to be helpful, but it’s too bad that children must face tragedy so often.
Excellent article Gail. Brings back memories of deciding how best to handle sharing the news of the Boston bombings with the children of our daughter who had just completed the Marathon.
Thank you for mentioning this, Dave. I was in Boston for a conference weeks after this event and was amazed at how courageous everyone was.
